It is very important to have the first examination at the age of 1 year old;

Droopy eyelid, nystagmus (involuntary eye movements) can be diagnosed early and treatment can be started in this period.

Congenital-onset cataracts, congenital eye pressure or disorders in the retina may cause permanent vision loss within 2-3 months.

Examinations between the ages of 6 months and 1 years are especially important for the detection and treatment of strabismus. Shifts that continue after 6 months require treatment.

In the later period, even if there are no complaints, examinations are important at the age of 3-4 and in the preschool period.

Optical Treatment: Some strabismus is due to refractive error and can be corrected with glasses.

Orthoptic Exercises: It is applied with both eyes to increase the sense of vision and depth.

Medical Treatment: It is a treatment using mydriatic and miotic drugs.

Surgical Treatment: The aim is to correct the deviation, to provide binocular single vision and to obtain a good aesthetic appearance.

It is applied to the slips that occur from birth or to the slips that occur later but cannot be corrected with glasses.
